How did I ring in the new year? Well, I had lunch with two TCU friends - Anntoinette donated a big suitcase for the move to England (more on that in later postings) and then spent the rest of the afternoon/evening hanging out with another friend from TCU. We ventured to Borders for coffee, Academy in search of a cooler for a gift, TCU to see the Christmas tree, Barnes and Nobles to use their facility and Kerby bought the book I want to read next (Betrayed: Escape from Iraq), Fuzzy's (mmhmm...my favorite!), and finally we saw the movie Invictous - with Nelson Mandela and the South African Rugby team, all the while discussing our love for refugees, other countries/cultures, and the seemingly fast pace of life after college.
After the movie, Kerby and I parted ways and I spent the final 2.5 hours of 2009 at home with my mom and two toddlers. Mom and Bella crashed out before midnight, but my nephew, Christopher stayed up LATE watching cartoons and asking, "Aunt Hannah, what are you doing?" over and over. I did manage to change the TV station to watch about 5 minutes of the New Year's Eve NYC ball drop and gave Christopher a big kiss on his cheek.
Since its a new year, I thought what better to do than start a blog! I felt a little inspired by the adventurous/unknown year that lies ahead of me. Hopefully, I can keep up (and y'all updated) with this little guy. No promises though! :)
Here's a picture of little Christopher and Aunt Hannah working to create this blog. Now, we need to go to bed.
Wow, I'm glad you decided to start a blog about your newest journey in life. You, A-Fed and I will have to do lunch at Olive Garden again when you come back from England.
