An AMERICAN!!!

Anytime I go out, someone comments on my accent. Here are a few conversations I’ve had so far….

Employee at Wilkinson’s (similar to target)
“What part of America are you from?”
-“Texas--- good guess on my accent.”
“Oh I’ve been to Virginia before…..The mountains are beautiful, but I hear Texas is FLAT.”
-“its true”

A girl on the street promoting a child abuse awareness organization
“Where are you from? Please don’t say LA…”
-“I’m from Texas.”
“Oh my cousin’s cousin….I guess that makes him my cousin too... lives in Texas.” He says they do this stomp dance thing.”
-“hmmmm like line dancing?”
“NO….like stomping” (demonstration given)
-“OHHHHH stepping! Yea, I have friends that do that”
“can you do it too?”
-“Oh NO! and you don’t want to see me try.”
“Are high schools really like the movies?”
-“NO!”
(most excited/expressive British girl I’ve met to date)

Two Car Phone Warehouse employees
#1: “May I ask you where your accent is from?”
-“The United States”
#2: “Oh like totally” (in his best valley girl accent)
